Visiting Fellow, CAS Research Focus “Planetary Health”

Libertad Chávez Rodríguez is a social scientist and associate professor at the Social Anthropology CIESAS Research Center in Monterrey, Mexico.
In her work, she integrates the perspectives of gender studies and political ecology to investigate socio-ecological issues. Her research interests include socio-spatial inequalities and social vulnerability to flooding in the context of climate change, examining risk perception and coping, adaptation and survival practices; gender, intersectionality and disasters; and urban mobility in relation to environmental justice.
In December 2024, she is a Visiting Fellow at CAS at the invitation of Prof. Dr. Eveline Dürr (LMU) as part of the CAS Research Focus Planetary Health.
